This is a screenshot of my development machine running Linux :)

I installed all the new 3D Desktop candys (XGL, AIGLX, Compiz, Beryl, etc...) and the result is very nice !
I played almost half an hour with the wobbly windows :D
The most wornderfull thing in all that, all these efects are not even affectiong the speed of the machine, all is 3D hardware accelerated.

This screenshot show Beryl's 3D cube feature (with a skybox and cube transparency)

I used this one (for the screenshot) as I have had SuSE 10.1 installation
[link]
Now the tutorial has been adapted for 10.2 but it should still work :)

I used thes ones too for my gentoo laptop :

For the other distros, I didn't tryed yet. But I know that the ubuntu forums have a lot of threads about beryl ( like [link] )

If you can't find tutorial for your distribution or run into some problems, I would recomand searching the forums there is always someone to help over there :)

As beryl is still a pretty new software, it's quite hard to help out without pointing to a tutorial...

Here's some requirements:
- Modern Linux distribution
- Working hardware accelerator with good drivers (I suggest Nvidia with the lastest drivers)
- A Xorg that support AIGLX or XGL ( not essantial if you have a Nvidia card )
- root access on the box you want to install it

Here's some links to official Beryl tutorials
Ubuntu : [link]
SuSE : [link]
Fedora : [link]
Gentoo : [link]
Others: [link]

I hope it helps :)
